Annie Runs to Honor & Support the Bravest Man She Knows - Her DAD♥

For Annie Strout, running with the MMRF Power Team is a way to honor and support her father, Bill, who has battled multiple myeloma for 10 years. He recently discontinued treatment and is now pursuing hospice care. Though his fight is coming to an end, he has faced his illness with courage and determination, pursuing every treatment available, including a stem cell transplant and intensive chemotherapy treatments.
To Annie, her father is a hero. She is running in both the Chicago Marathon and Chicago Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon to honor him and support research for treatments that will help other patients as they did her father. “Without the innovations in research my father wouldn’t have been able to be with us for these past 10 years” She says. “Although we are losing him now, I am thankful for the time that we have been given due to advancements in treatment.” By running in two marathons, Annie Strout makes her father’s fight her own, helping to make a difference for other myeloma patients and letting his legacy live on.
